Just an FYI...April 1 has always been my dad's B-day. He's 75 today.
I'm happy that he is around to celebrate it. However I'm a bit "Bummed/Frustrated" that he had to go to the hospital on Monday. (BTW for those who have been praying for him, thanks.) No one should spend their B-day in the hospital. We've(My Mom and I have been visiting every day) The doc wants to keep him there for observation 2-3 more days. So we'll see. I just felt like getting this out on digital paper rather than keeping in bottled up.

In other news, the FAA is renegotiating Contracts again...So in 1-3 weeks I may have a new owner of my contact. Wich may...or may not...mean good or bad things. If good..I may get a raise... if not...I might have my saved up time off and sick days rest. Time will tell.

Ok well that's all on my mind for now.

If your bored and want to play a silly game check out "My Brute"

See if ya like it.
Hope everyone has a save day.

Seconds and Sickness

Well I managed to get the cold everyone's been getting, and have been contemplating the ability to sleep with crazy dreams when one drinks NyQuil.
Last weekend I got a change to visit with a friend whom I haven't seen/talked to in quite a long time. We had allot to catch up on, and still have allot to catch up on. But I was quite glad to see them again. And I plan to make it NOT another 4 years of quiet this time. Here is to second changes.

So...what am I doing with myself? Well I went to the doc's again now that my insurance is solid and was told once again I have stupidly high blood pressure. Doc put me on BP med and I'm take'n it once a day along with my vitamins. Other than that I've been going to the gym quite regularly and it has helped me allot. The funny thing is right at this moment I fell tired and listless but that could be a combination of feeling sick and having done 45 min of Cardio today. *INSTERT COUGHING SOUNDS HERE*

A bunch of friends of mine are all doing the baby thing. One couple just had their kid, another is expected to deliver in the next 2 or so weeks, and a third couple just announced their "in the baby way." It could be the NyQuil talking, but I am both extremely happy for all of them, and partially jealous. I’m still single, and I do find it annoying, no not the announcements, I’m annoyed at myself for not being more passionate about finding myself a mate. I’m currently contemplating joining a few online relationship websites and seeing what happens. I don’t honestly don’t know what the future holds right now, but I’ll continue to walk in faith.

I’ve been invited back to the Dreamcatcheras Voice Acting crew. I don’t know if I’ll be able to rejoin them, if I do it might only be 1 weekend a month, due to all the family, and life stuff going on right now. I hope things go great for them tho.
Well I was expecting to put deeper thoughts onto digital paper at this time, but I’m kinda feeing exhausted.
Till I post again.
Happy upcoming St. Patrick’s day.

Upward and Onward to Random Adventure!

I went to visit my good buddy [info]toasters_toast this weekend. I drive down Friday night, grabbed some Mexican food and I promptly fell out of existence on his couch.Zzzzz. The next day we watch the episode of BSG we'd missed the night before and then decided to go on an adventure to Government Camp on Mt Hood. We climbed into my Buick de Hooptie and drove up the mountain. The winds were whipping down like mad and when I got of the car twice I could lean against the wind a little without falling over.

Here is one of the stops(click pic to see how I rock):
Mike Rock(s) Mt Hood in OR
Mike Rock(s) Mt Hood in OR In the spirit if random adventure, I went to Oregon and went to Mt. Hood.2/28/09
We finally got to Government Camp and walked around the "town" and visited the Museum/Town Visitor center then walked over to the Govt. Camp Bakery and Deli and has AWE-isnpiring sandviches (OM NOM NOM)..While in the deli we made the decision to drive up as far as we could to the ski resort at the top of the mountain. We drove on and picked up a snowboarder hitchhiker on his way back up the mountain. He was "Like dudes thanks for the lift, I think I like tranked my board." (Good Deed for the day)

We got all the way to top and marched around, saw the Hotel, and froze our ear off (Considering I was dressed in my AWESOME Flannel lined pant it wasn't So bad) If you want to see the view click here (warning BIG File size): http://pics.livejournal.com/niftykoala/pic/00004yce
Random Adventure over we drove back down the mountain and had sushi.

Well that's my update for the day.

Around 2003 a trio of friends living in Korea made a small animation to promote a book called "Hot Fish:But different." Interlaced in the animation appeared a little cat with a green scarf and a girl bunny rabbit who stood amazed looking at the stars. This was the first time the group SamBakZa introduced us to Doki(the Rabbit) and Nabi(The Cat).

Sambakza Next made another animation for just Nabi and Doki Called "There she is!"
Well I've followed these two in their animations in which they just completed the final cartoon this December.
Now I want to share their adventures with all of you:
Watch them all...smile and enjoy music... and.... keep a tissue handy....just in case.

The original (Hot Fish Animation)

Step 1. "One Day"

Step2. "Cake Dance"

Step3. "Doki&Nabi"

Step4. "Paradise"

Step5. "Imagine"

I really enjoyed these...and I hope you all do too.

(My Christmas wish-written by me)

Young and Old, Long time friends and the new.
On this Christmas day, I send these tidings true.
In my heart you stay, in my prayers your held.
And of glad tidings, to send I'm compelled.
Hold the good feelings in your heart at this time.
Carry them through the year, let it not be part-time.
My prayer for you all, is that you all will be blessed.
Which I shout to you all, I say merry Christmas.

'To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did.'   When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better. Consider this... 'The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.'

What are you thankful for?

So this years thanks giving has come (NOM NOM NOM) and gone (BURP!). I got to see [info]toasters_toast during the thanksgiving weekend too! So I made a handmade pumpkin pies and made a gigantic amount of of stuffing, I also brought some sparkling pear and pomegranate cider for the meal as well. My bro make the turkey, my sister-in-law made lightly spice chicken and yams. And my eldest niece brought smashed potatoes.
I was very thankful that my father was able to make it over to my brothers place with out too much problems. We had Pansit and and SUPER SPICY PEPPERS TOO! It's always an international expo at our Thanksgiving get togethers.

This years Thanksgiving Movie was WALL-E which everyone enjoyed. I don't know why but I find it funny how we choose movies for Thanksgiving, cause last years was Howl's Moving Castle. It's a little thing, but again I was really thankful that we were all there to watch it.

On things I am thankful for...I am thankful for may family and my friends (near and far). I'm glad when I get to see them, or hear from them. I am also thankful to be working. In the crazinesses of this economy I'm happy. I am thankful for swimming...I recently went to the pool out in Bellview, via 24 fitness, and realized how much I missed swimming and being in the water. Maybe I'm part blue whale or something. (heh heh) Anyhoo...I swam for about 40 minutes doing laps..it felt really good.

So yeah I'm thankful for stuff.
How about all of you?

Well last Friday on my way home from work my car made the following sounds:
Shing!
BLAGHA!
WUD!
And
Viiiii!

This was to tell me that my water pump had sheered off, my serpintien belt had fallen off, and I now had 0 power steering and my battery was not getting recharged. Luckily this all occurred 1 block from my local auto tune specialist. So I just pulled up and said. "Dudes! Need Fix!" Had to walk up the Renton Highlands Hill to go home, but they had my water pump fixed by the next AM, So I walked back down on Saturday and Drove off no worries.

On Saturday [info]littlecodfish and I did some adventuring around China Town and the Pike Place Market. In Chinatown, we went to the games store Pink Godzilla and looked at their newly expanded store, where I picked up a "Metal Gear" wristband.(Geekness). We then went to China Gate and Had a Dim-Sum Lunch, which I think was pretty good.(Of course nothing will ever be as good as then now gone King Cafe). After that we walked back to Uwagimia and looked at the new books Kinyokunya. I got some more Banana Ketchup and a little omiagi toy for my niece. I also picked up a yam empladas in the bakery(Nummy).

From there we went over to the Pike Place Market and made our way around the shops. We had Turkish Delight, some Piroshki's(I got some for my Mom and Dad), went down to the Majik Shop Down under, and finally got some Grapples(Apples that taste like grapes) and some dried Strawberries. We also went to "The Soap Box" and each got some kewl soaps. It's fun to play tourist/Tour Guide in your own city.

Sunday, I hung out with [info]tak178 and we ran around SouthCenter and IKEA, where I got some sparkl'n Juices for Thanksgiving and a easy hang Drawer set.

On Monday I went to the gym and decide to upgrade my membership so that I can use the locations that have swimming pools. So I filled out the form, signed, initialed, it's an extra 10 a month, and gave the guy my card, then signed the receipt. He's says: Let me just look this all over and I'll answer any questions. He looked it over and said:
"Oh crap"
"Is it bad?" I asked.
"Not for You it isn't"

Apparently he'd been looking at the SUPERDUPERULTRAMEGA Package just before he began to update my membership, but had forgotten to clear the fields, So....My membership is now a SUPERDUPERULTRAMEGA version.....for just $10 more a month instead of an extra $29 a moth. And because I'd already signed and PAID for the contract, it was 100% legal and binding (He said this, not me). So once again my insane luck/blessing comes into play...soo...level up!

I once was blind...

Anyway...My nifty keen insurance just kicked in with my company witch includes Dental and Vision. So...I got new glasses. I'm kinda lucky my vision hasn't gotten too wacky. So glasses..meh..who cares...But I also got contacts! I can now wear kewl sunglasses. And I got ALL of this including eye exam for under $300! Now that is teh awesomesauce.

And speaking of awesomesauce, I have a old/new sauce addiction. Banana Ketchup. Jufran Banana Sauce specifically, I had this when I visited the Filipines and when I came back to the States I looked all over for it. Well strangely enough Uwajimaya has now started carrying it. And not only that, it the "Hot" version. It's really great stuff (In my opinion). It's good on rice. I've even mixed it with some ranch dressing and put it on a salad. *NOM NOM NOM*
Anyone have a secret/special sauce addiction?

Also...when I got my glasses...BTW, My new optometrist is 5 bocks from my Apt... I found out 2 things:
1) Right next to the optometrist is a ice skating rink. I don't ice skate, but that's a cool. (No Pun intended)
2)Strait across from my optometrist there is a Carl's JR Fast Food restaurant. Again I'm eating healthier, but the last time I ate at a Carl's Jr I had to drive 45Minutes to get there. Now all I need is for there to be a Sonic's Burger and Cici's pizza on my street and I'll finally be able to go to those place's that advertise here but don't exist anywhere in this state. (heh heh)

Overall Kewlness abounds. I'm going to the gym regularly(yay), and am pleasantly enjoying going to work.(for the most part)

THE DEBATES!! I think that.....

  • Oct. 3rd, 2008 at 5:04 PM
Touching
I didn't watch 'em. Didn't care too. I was to busy having fun with my new Gamboy DS.

While do understand the importance of the political process, and the idea behind the "Debates". It doesn't really feel like a debate, rather than a reiteration of everthing you've said before and a clarification session of everthing you (or your running mate) didn't mean to say. BOREING..ZZzzzzz.

What is fun?(Warning Geek Mode Entered)
Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood for the DS.
(Warning This link requires flash and fast internets)

I'm not a die hard RPG-er or even a die hard gamer. However I do recognize hard work and skills.
The people who created this game(BioWare) not only respect the fans of the Sonic Francize, but in delivering this game fully utilizes the capeabilies of the DS, as well as attempt to bring DS game creation to an almost new level.
(Exit Geek mode)
Anywho... I'll probably get it sometime. Not the die hard gamer...I play when I feel the need to kill time.

There are so many more interesting things on the face of the planet than drinking games involving Palin and Biden. The phrase "Stop and Smell the Roses" is something people don't do often enough. Now I'm not about to get all hippy or anything, but there are times when people just need to step back and not worry so much.

I like to hang out with my friends more than anything, but it seems so often we are all caught up in our lives and other things to be able to just, "Hang" like we used too. Growing up can be a pain, can't it?

What is a great job?

  • Sep. 19th, 2008 at 4:57 PM
Bwhahahaa

Some say do a job you enjoy and you never work a day in you life.
But don't you think that even the person that rubs suntan lotion on Sports Illustrated swimsuit models occasionally thinks "Dude, This is it?"
I recently applied for a different job with the FAA, and didn't get it. The job paid more, and would have made my commute longer, but it would have pushed me more.

On liking one's job...
Ehh...I like my job; it pays the bills, pushes me a bit, and is long term. It's a good job that helps others and does good, not harm.
But I don't have "job I enjoy" per-se.
Wow, I've managed to find commonality with 95% of the world. Woo. "One of Us! One of Us!"

I'm kinda curios what people think makes a "Job one can enjoy?"

Take my father for example he enjoyed his job for the most part. I think of how my father Worked for Boeing and during his time there worked in the chem lab, on the Saturn 13 Lunar rocket system, and a whole slew of interesting things that allowed him both the ability to be part of his family, travel, and be part of something bigger.  He even met my mother at his job.

I think professional photographer for National Geographic would be a job one can enjoy. I mean paid to do something you like to do, travel, and share your work with the world. Quite amazing.

Also, looking at it from an outsider view, I think being a comic or animation or even part time artist would be enjoyable. I think the ability to create pictures from nothing kicks tail.  And sharing them with others to make them laugh, or even sad is even more amazing.

I know 1 or two people read this so what are your thoughts on enjoyable jobs?

Also, your random comic of the day.

Doing Manly Man Stuffs!

  • Sep. 9th, 2008 at 6:56 PM
Manly
I like being a man.
No this is not Sexism.
It's Manly-ism.

In the past two weeks I've really enjoyed doing things the manly way.
(Please Note: All statements come from a point of view skewed by gender)
(Also this is meant to inform and be fun)

I fixed my own car! With a damaged headlight, I bought a part from an on-line junkyard and replaced the broken headlight, instead of paying someone else huge sacks of cash, all the while sweating and grunting in a Manly way.

I went to a game! I went to a baseball game any yelled till my voice was sorta gone. Manly shouting! And there were fireworks afterward. There is something Manly about watching baseball, eating P-nuts and watching flaming balls of fire explode.

I lifted heavy things! I carried heavy servers up 4 stories when the elevators gave out at work.

I bought pants! And I did it in a Manly way! I needed pants. I found pants that were my size. I found another pair that were my size but a different color! I then bought those pants!

I saw movies! I watched Hancock and Babylon A.D. for free! Both were Manly movies involving little to no plot and a lot of things breaking and exploding! I also like The Dark Night with HAD a plot but had even more things breaking and exploding.

I gave blood! I'm soo manly I had to puncture my skin to show how Manly I was and share my manliness with the world!

Also...My Dad's doing a bit better and I'm happy about that. He's one of the MANLY-EST men I know!

In other news: Here is preview a flash animation I'm doing a voice for (BTW...I'm an EVIL character once again)

Blame Canada!

Trust Me?
Went to Canada on Saturday. 1 day round trip.
Got some Areo bars. Nom Nom Nom.
Saw the Maritime Museum
Got some Tim Bits for the Children's Church class I'll be teaching.
Also noticed something strange about Canada's new walk signal.
